By Maui Now Staff
The County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation today announced that fencing improvements at Harold W. Rice Park in Kula will begin on Wednesday, June 17, 2015.
The project will take two months to complete and will include making repairs and improvements to the perimeter and field chain link fencing to increase public safety and the playability of the fields.
Total cost of the project is $29,460, with work to be done by Kamoku Contracting, LLC.
The 3.8-acre park, which is located in Kula above Kula Highway on Lower Kula Road, offers nine picnic tables, a BBQ grill, restrooms, ADA accessibility, and is known for its sweeping views.
The park will remain open during the construction; however, the public is asked to avoid construction areas and equipment to ensure public safety. Project competition is slated by August 16, 2015.
