Surveillance Images Released in Alleged Theft

Maui Police and Maui Crime Stoppers are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person responsible for the theft of a backpack and its contents from an unattended bell cart at a South Maui resort last week.

The incident is believed to have occurred at around 4:39 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015.

Authorities describe the stolen bag as a black and white Volcom backpack, and released two surveillance photos in the hopes of identifying the individual responsible for the theft.

Anyone with information on the identity of the person in the attached photos is asked to call the Maui Police Department at (808) 244-6400 or Crime Stoppers at (808) 242-6966,and reference MPD Report #15-038473.

Maui Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of people responsible for felony crimes; the recovery of stolen property or seizure of illegal drugs in felony cases; or the capture of felony fugitives.
