Sign Waving for Mental Health to be Held Oct. 10
In celebration of Mental Illness Awareness Week, Oct. 4 though 10, Kuleana Connections 2015 members invites the community to join them in a sign waving event on Mental Health Day, Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in front of Macy’s on Ka‘ahumanu Avenue in Kahului.
Participants are invited to bring a sign to increase awareness and enthusiasm regarding mental health.
“Let’s show that recovery is possible!” said Ho‘omoana Foundation Executive Director Lisa Darcy. “Meet like-minded colleagues, connect with mental health supporters and sign petitions for better mental health care on Maui.”
Participants should park in the mall parking lot near Ka‘ahumanu Avenue and meet in front of the parking lot on the sidewalk.
The event, sponsored by the Ho‘omoana Foundation, will be held rain or shine.
