Manpower shortage Wailuku. Maui Now graphic.

A staff shortage was named as the cause of missed trash collection on residential routes in Wailuku today.

The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division, made the announcement, saying the the missed routes would be picked up on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015.

Affected areas include:

Waiehu Kou 1, 2, 3 and 4; Waiheʻe Town, Ocean View Estates; Waiehu Heights and all surrounding streets.

Department officials apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the community for their understanding and cooperation.
