The Shops at Wailea, home to more than 70 distinct boutiques, shops, restaurants and galleries, has undergone some recent changes.

New additions at The Shops include the opening of Island Gourmet Markets, a shopping spree giveaway through October, a simplified parking structure and a special Wailea Le‘a performance by Robert Cazimero.

The construction of Island Gourmet Markets has recently been completed, offering a convenient grocery location in Wailea. The store opened on Sept. 15, and carries a variety of produce, beer and wine, Pā‘ia Gelato and other local products, as well as Island Deli Kitchen items. Every Thursday and Sunday, the deli offers prime rib. The market also includes an Island Gourmet Coffee shop.

The parking system has also changed at The Shops, offering free, one-hour parking plus two, free additional hours (with validation) with a minimum purchase of $25. See details at “The Shops at Wailea Implements New Parking Validation System.”

The Shops at Walea are also offering a “shopping spree” giveaway. Shoppers have the opportunity to win a $200 shopping spree or a free annual parking pass. Fill out an entry form and drop it off at the Whalers General Store, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Longhi’s or The Honolulu Coffee Co. Entries will be collect until the end of October, when the winner will be announced. (No purchase necessary to enter or win.)

As part of today’s shopping spree, The Shops are giving away free tote bags.

Last year, The Shops launched Wailea Le‘a, free, live, monthly entertainment under the stars.

This month, Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame musician and Kumu Hula Robert Cazimero will perform on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the fountain courtyard. Cazimero is known for his contemporary Hawaiian music and hula.

In addition to Cazimero’s performance, there will be complimentary menu samplings from Longhi’s, Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Lappert’s Ice Cream, Fustini’s Oils and Vinegars, and Honolulu Cookie Company. Cos Bar will have its table set up for a make-up refresh after a delightful treat.

Wailea Leʻa is a signature monthly event held on the third Wednesday evening of each month.
