UCLA Preps for 5th Appearance at Maui Jim Maui Invitational
Representatives of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational visited the Rose Bowl on Saturday, where the UCLA Bruins were presented with their custom tournament surfboard to commemorate their trip to Maui later this month.
The presentation was made before a crowd of 50,000 fans during Homecoming weekend during the UCLA-Colorado football game.
Mascot Joe Bruin also surfed through the end zone on the shoulders of UCLA’s cheerleaders as part of the presentation.
Tournament sponsor Maui Jim was on hand during the school’s Homecoming festivities, appearing at the pregame Fan Zone prior to kickoff and introducing fans to its patented PolarizedPlus2 lens technology.
The 2015 Maui Jim Maui Invitational is scheduled for Nov. 23-25 at the Lahaina Civic Center in West Maui.
This year’s event marks UCLA’s fifth appearance in the tournament. UCLA will face UNLV in its first game of the Championship Round on Nov. 23, 2015.
