Staff Shortage Results in Missed Refuse Collection in Haʻikū

Haʻikū trash route missed. Maui Now graphic.

The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division, announced that due to a staff shortage, a residential refuse collection route in the Haʻikū area was not picked up on Friday, Nov. 13, 2015.

All missed pickups are expected to be completed on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015.

Affected areas include:

  • Awalau Road
  • Iulani
  • North and South Lanikai Place
  • Mopua Street
  • Pico Tract
  • Waipalani Road
  • and all surrounding streets.

Officials with the Solid Waste Division apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the public for their understanding and cooperation.
