Old Haleakalā Highway, S-Bound Closure for Pedestrian Safety

Starting Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, Old Haleakalā Highway will be closed in the south bound direction from Makawao Avenue to Kula Highway due to pedestrian safety concerns, according to an announcement by BCP Construction.

Company representatives say the closure will run until construction is complete.

Through traffic will be detoured onto Makawao Avenue and Kula Highway.

Residents that live along Old Haleakalā Highway will have access to their properties via the north bound lane of Old Haleakalā Highway, according to the announcement.

Motorists are asked to obey all traffic and directional signs in the area and proceed with caution.
