Maui Ocean Center began its 12 Days of FISH-mas celebration on Dec. 14 with the arrival Scuba Claus.

Now through Christmas Day, Scuba Claus and Elf will make daily underwater appearances at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the aquarium’s Open Ocean Exhibit to spread holiday cheer and talk about the aquarium’s marine life.

Both Scuba Claus and Elf will wear special dive masks that allow them to communicate with the audience and answer questions.

Aquarium visitors will be able to view Scuba Claus and Elf in the 750,000-gallon Open Ocean Exhibit, Maui Ocean Center’s largest exhibit, which is home to over 20 sharks, rays and various tropical fish species.

A 54-foot acrylic tunnel enables guests to enjoy an immersive, underwater experience with a 240-degree view of Hawai‘i’s largest apex predators.

An aquarium diver and marine naturalist will join Scuba Claus and Elf to talk about the exhibit’s marine life and interact with guests.
