If you’d like to ring in 2016 with a full belly, then maybe dance off the calories, here are a few options around Maui on New Year’s Eve.

  • Makena Beach & Golf Resort

The New Year’s Eve Party runs from 5:30 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31. The event also includes live music and dancing till 12:30 a.m.

The food features tapas selections from around the world. As the New Year approaches, Makena heads to Italy with fresh crispy calamari and caprese salad with freshly pulled mozzarella. Then there’s a stop in France for a hearty Beurre Monte, slow butter-poached lobster tails, or filet mignon stuffed with truffles, shallot, and wild mushrooms. Makena also brings you to Asia, serving crispy pork belly with bao buns, dim sum, a selection of sushi and sashimi, as well as fresh veggies and seafood selections off the hibachi grill. Never one to miss dessert, the resort is preparing a “death by chocolate” dessert buffet with flambé fondue and crème brulee action stations. See the full menu here.
