Mayor Alan Arakawa answers some of the most-asked questions submitted to his office staff.

Aloha Mayor,

Q: The toddler/infant pool and fountain at the Kīhei Aquatic Center has been closed for some time now. It doesn’t look like any work is being done on it. What is the timeline for getting this pool up and running? There are many families who would like to enjoy this pool, thank you.

A: Unfortunately, there is a leak in the main feed line to the Keiki Pool which is not an easy fix. The county Department of Parks & Recreation has this on their priority list to get done by June 2016. Once repairs are complete, we will reopen the Keiki Pool, as we know that it is well-used and well-loved by our community.

Please note that during construction, the training pool as well as the lockers and restroom areas will remain open for public use. Mahalo.
