Dear Mayor Arakawa:

Q: When are the police going to start cracking down on red light runners? It is getting worse every day. Are they going to wait for a fatality before they start doing something?

A: Maui Police Department is very much aware of the proble, and officers take action on violations they observe. During the month of January 2016, MPD issued 50 citations for red light runners.
