Dear Mayor Arakawa,

Q: When is the Pā‘ia Community Center going to be re-opened? It has been closed for over a year and even though neither of the meeting rooms nor the original restroom are affected, the parks people have said they are not allowed to take bookings. So it has just been sitting there unused.

The surrounding neighborhood is being greatly inconvenienced by not being able to use this public facility. Mahalo.

A: Our parks staff tell me that the center will be reopened for reservations beginning Monday, Feb. 29.
