Maui Pops Orchestra Spring Pops at The MACC March 20
Maui Pops Orchestra Spring Pops will come to the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater on Sunday, March 20, 2016, beginning at 3 p.m.
Maui Pops Orchestra’s Spring Pops concert features internationally acclaimed pianist Ian Parker, who has performed with many of the finest orchestras in the US and Canada.
Parker will perform Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1—one of the giants of the repertoire. It will be a rare opportunity to hear such a dynamic and powerful work.
The first half of the concert will feature Scheherazade, the symphonic poem by Rimsky-Korsakov. Based on One Thousand and One Nights, Scheherazade must tell a story every night to save her life.
Guest concertmaster Andrew Sords will perform the exquisite violin solo that depicts Scheherazade.
Tickets are $15, $30, $40 and $50, with half-price tickets available to students 18 and under (plus applicable fees). The student discount does not apply to $15 tickets.
Patrons who purchased tickets to all four shows in the Maui Pops series (Dec. 6; Jan. 24; Feb. 21 & March 20) receive a 10% discount off each ticket price.
Purchase tickets online or by calling The MACC Box Office at (808) 242-SHOW (7469).
