Ocean Rescues at Pōhaku Park “S-Turns” in Kahana
Emergency crews were called to the scene of Pōhaku Park “S-Turns” in Kahana following a report of an ocean goer in distress at around 1:55 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016.
Upon arrival on scene, emergency crews observed several individuals kite surfing and windsurfing in the area. Fire officials say several of the individuals appeared to be in distress and in need of assistance.
Aided by a lifeguard Jetski, a total of seven individuals: one kite surfer and six windsurfers were assisted to shore.
All of the individuals were male with local addresses. No medical assistance was needed.
Emergency crews responding to the scene included Engine 11 from the Nāpili Fire Station and Jet Ski 11 from DT Fleming Beach.
