Woman Rushed to Hospital After Pulled from Swimming Pool

A 31-year-old Kīhei woman was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition after she was found at the bottom of a swimming pool at The Wailea Fairway Villas on Kalai Waʻa Street in South Maui on Saturday night, fire officials said.

The incident was reported at 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2016.

According to department reports, the woman was swimming at the pool with friends, but no one witnessed what had happened. “The woman was quickly brought up to the pool deck after someone found her at the bottom of the pool,” fire officials said.

When firefighters arrived at 8:52 p.m., bystanders were performing CPR on the woman. Firefighters and paramedics took over life-saving efforts, and eventually transported the woman to the hospital.
