Maui Crime, March 27–April 2: Burglaries, Break-Ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 19 burglaries, 6 vehicle thefts, and 36 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period, between March 27 and April 2, 2016.

Of the six vehicle thefts, one of the vehicles have been recovered.  The incidents were reported in Kahului, Kīhei, Waikapū and Lahaina.

Burglary incidents were up to 19 from the 16 incidents reported the week before.

Vehicle break-ins more than doubled to 36, from the 14 incidents reported the week before.  The greatest number was in Wailuku, with 14 incidents reported over seven days.

Hāna:

• Sunday, March 27, 7:05 p.m.: 6400 block of Hāna Hwy. Burglary residential – unlawful entry.

Kāʻanapali:

• Sunday, March 27, 9:23 p.m.: 2365 Kāʻanapali Pkwy at the Westin Maui. Burglary residential – unlawful entry.
• Tuesday, March 29, 8:39 a.m.: 6 Kai Ala Dr at the Westin Kāʻanapali Ocean Resort. Burglary residential – unlawful entry.
• Wednesday, March 30, 1:20 p.m.: 6 Kai Ala Dr at the Westin Kāʻanapali Ocean Resort. Burglary residential – unlawful entry.
• Thursday, March 31, 5:40 p.m.: 2365 Kāʻanapali Pkwy at the Westin Maui. Burglary residential – unlawful entry.
