“This grand opening celebration is the culmination of many months of planning and hard work, and I’m so grateful for everyone who has helped us reach this milestone,” said Kurt Higa, gym owner and long-time fitness professional. “The public is invited to come meet our friendly and experienced Anytime Fitness Wailuku staff, including General Manager Jean Sevilla, who has been working in the health and wellness field for more than 20 years; Jen Tom, marathon runner and figure competitor; Jon Sato, who has a bachelors of science degree in exercise science and is a certified fitness trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine; and Carlene DeCoite, who is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer and TRX. Their wealth of knowledge is already helping our members achieve their fitness and health goals, and we look forward to sharing their expertise with others in our community as well.”

Higa is a certified strength and conditioning specialist; licensed massage therapist specializing in special populations and injuries; exercise therapy specialist (post-rehabilitation); certified golf biomechanic (Chek Institute); certified personal trainer and certified group exercise instructor.

“It’s truly a great feeling to help people recover from an injury and/or get them to a healthier place in their lives,” Higa said. “What better way to live my life… by helping others love to live theirs.”
