Wailea is welcoming a new oceanfront dining destination, called KAPA Pool Bar + Grill, at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa.

KAPA is a casual bistro serving modern interpretations of culinary classics. The poolside bistro featuring locally-sourced products is set against the backdrop of the ‘Ohi Pools at Wailea Beach Marriott. The restaurant’s name is in homage to the ancient tradition of kapa, a Polynesian fabric design technique with distinct Hawaiian influences and historical significance.

Sip on a signature tropical cocktail at the resort’s outdoor firepit while watching the sun set over the horizon. Experiment with the bold menu flavors, which emphasize relationships with local farmers, fisherman and ranchers. Signature dishes crafted by executive chef John Leslie include:

  • The refreshing Kula Farms Kale Salad with locally-sourced mint, serrano chili and housemade parmesan dressing
  • Thai Coconut Lemongrass Red Curry with fresh wheat noodles, basil, red bell pepper, green beans, bamboo shoots and Kauai shrimp
  • Fresh-caught Mahi Mahi creations: fish tacos with chipotle aioli, blackened mahi sandwich with lemon-caper tartar sauce, and roasted fresh catch with baby bok choy and ginger-chili vinaigrette.

KAPA also features a game room with an 80″ flat-screen 4K TV, pool table, shuffleboard and even Xbox.  Live music is featured at “The Point.”
