According to Brenda Kaneshiro of Molokai Meli, Molokai was once the number one honey exporter of the world. In the early 1900’s Molokai Ranch had countless hives. Unfortunately a disease affected the bees and they were nearly all wiped out.

Today, beekeepers are reviving Molokai’s honey market. Malika Dudley was on Molokai recently and checked in with Brenda of Molokai Meli and Micah Buchanan of Molokai Gold.
