The Maui Hotel & Lodging Association raised $25,000 to support youth scholarships at its 20th Annual “Excellence in Education” golf tournament presented by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits on Friday, Aug. 5 at the Kāʻanapali Royal Golf Course.

The popular visitor industry event celebrated 20 years of giving back to Maui’s future business leaders by raising significant scholarship funding to the following programs:

o Academy of Hospitality & Tourism Academies at Baldwin, Lahainaluna and Maui High School
o UH Maui College Culinary Arts and Hospitality & Tourism Programs
o MHLA Member Scholarship Program
o Maui Junior Golf

“The Maui Hotel & Lodging Association is committed to giving back to the community and one of those ways is by providing scholarship opportunities to invest in our youth, the future business leaders of Maui County,” says Lisa Paulson, Executive Director for the Maui Hotel & Lodging Association.

The team that placed 20th, Henkels & McCoy Group, received special honors and noted as the “winning” team – a tribute to the 20th annual event.

Top finishers included: 1.Honua Kai; 2. Market Advantage; 3.Andaz Maui; 4.He-Man Services; 5. KONE Elevators; 6. Fairmont Kea Lani 7. Aston Mahana; 8. Hawaiʻi Care & Cleaning; 9. Tri-Star Restaurant Group; 10. Kāʻʻanapali Beach Hotel.
