Staffing Shortage Disrupts Refuse Pickup in Lahaina

The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division, announced that due to staffing issues, residential refuse on a collection route in Lahaina was not picked up on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016. All missed pickups are expected to be completed on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016.

Affected areas in Lahaina include: Lahainaluna Road, Kanakea Loop, Kanua, Kalena, Nīheu Place, Iaīalo Street, Kuialua, Hopoe, Hokeo, Hakau and all surrounding streets and roads.

The Solid Waste Division apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the community in advance for their understanding and cooperation.
