As of 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016; the backcountry area of Haleakalā National Park reopened at the Summit. Visitors should expect rainy, wet and possibly windy conditions.

Park closures at this time are limited to the Pools at ʻOheʻo in the Kīpahulu District of the park.
