American Cancer Society Presents HopeFest Maui-Neon Ball, Sept. 24
The American Cancer Society Hawai’i Pacific’s 2nd annual HopeFest Maui, set for this Saturday, Sept. 24 from 5 to 9 p.m., will present the Neon Ball at the sophisticated Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort.
HopeFest proceeds will benefit Hope Lodge Hawaiʻi. Set to open in November 2016, American Cancer Society’s Clarence T.C. Ching Hope Lodge Hawaii offers free lodging to cancer patients and their caregiver seeking treatment on Oʻahu.
Attendees of the 2016 gala will enjoy a localized special event menu catered by the Andaz Maui. Highlights will include a reception station, an assorted buffet menu, and an array of specialty desserts.
The Neon Ball will commence with signature cocktails, pūpūs, contemporary island grooves, and both silent and live auctions. The featured entertainer will be Nā Hoku Hanohano award winner, A Touch of Gold, with their signature harmonies of ‘Motown Hawaiian Style.’
The HopeFest family of supporters include Miyake Concrete & Accessories Inc., Pacific Media Group, and Kaiser Permanente.
Gala Chair, Tyson Miyake, is Chief Operating Officer for Miyake Concrete & Accessories Inc., and he has worked tirelessly to ensure a successful event. In his own words “I volunteer because I’ve been blessed to not be affected by cancer; I am able bodied, I can fight for others, and I can do the work.”
His commitment to fundraising has been instrumental to the American Cancer Society and for Tyson, “It’s such a blessing to be from Maui and to see the support from our community. It’s both humbling and inspiring to see the network of support.”
