Honoapiʻilani Now OPEN, Olowalu Accident Cleared

UPDATE: 3:07 p.m. 12.01.16, Lahaina bound traffic is backed up to the Kūihelani Hwy intersection all the way to the earlier accident that has since been cleared at Olowalu. While the area is now clear, motorists tell Maui Now that traffic headed into Lahaina is very heavy. Wailuku-bound traffic meantime is moving at this time.

UPDATE: 1:41 p.m. 12.01.16, Honoapiʻilani Hwy (30) is now cleared and passable in both directions. It was partially closed earlier this afternoon following a traffic accident on the Wailuku side of the Olowalu Store reported this afternoon.

PREVIOUS POST: Maui police are alternating traffic on the Honoapiʻilani Hwy (30) near MP14, on the Wailuku side of Oluwalu Store due to a traffic accident. Emergency units are on scene at this time utilizing contra flow on North bound lane only.  The partial-closure went into effect at 12:48 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016.
