UPDATE: Repairs Underway to Fix Waterline Break on Kaʻahumanu Ave

The Department of Water Supply is continuing work on a waterline break on Kaʻahumanu Avenue, fronting Burger King, in Kahului. Work is anticipated to be completed at approximately 5:30 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 16, 2016).
Consumers from Kahului to Spreckelsville, whose water service is affected, should have water restored to normal levels at approximately 5:30 p.m. Those who are experiencing low water pressure are asked to conserve water and to avoid any unnecessary water use during this time.
Motorists are asked to avoid the work site and its surrounding area as much as possible. If it is not possible to avoid driving in the area, motorists are asked to exercise caution.
The public can call the department’s 24-hour service line at (808) 270-7633 if a water-related problem occurs or if there are any questions.

The Department of Water Supply will be repairing a waterline break on Kaʻahumanu Avenue, fronting Burger King in Kahului. A crew is on-site and it is anticipated that work will take between six to eight hours.
Consumers from Kahului to Spreckelsville may be impacted with low pressure to an interruption in water service during this time period. Those who are experiencing low water pressure are asked to conserve water and to avoid any unnecessary water use during this time.
Motorists driving in the area are asked to use caution as traffic is impacted.

As of 5:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, Kaʻahumanu Ave at Puʻunēnē Ave was limited to ONE lane of travel.
Due to a water main break, two east bound lanes at Kaʻahumanu Avenue in front of Burger King are closed until further notice.
As a result, water service may be disrupted for some customers. So far the Kahului Airport, Walmart and Zippy’s are reporting no water as of 6:15 a.m.. Crews are working on repairs.
