New Cultural Leadership Course at UH Maui College

EdVenture at UH Maui College is offering a new one day workshop, Culture-Based Leadership, on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017.

The workshop will present strategies to increase awareness of cultural values and help participants develop new perspectives on leadership practices in Hawaiʻi.

Visiting instructor Mary Therese Perez Hattori, EdD, of the Center for Pacific Island Studies at University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa will cover topics including resource management, interpersonal communications, and strategic planning.

“Together we will reflect and discover strategies and resources for a richer professional life that honors your cultural heritage and the cultures of others in this rich multicultural place that is Hawai’i,” said Dr. Hattori.

The 8-hour workshop will engage participants to apply principles from their own cultures, and learn ways to achieve success and inspire others through awareness of cultural values.

The new class will be offered on Tuesday, Feb. 14 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The course fee is $199.
