Maui Nui Botanical Gardens, in partnership with Hale Ho‘ike‘ike (Bailey House Museum), will host its “Hawaiian Sugarcane Workshop” on Saturday, March 4, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Dr. Noa Lincoln will teach participants how to identify Hawaiian varieties of kō, discuss their role in traditional Hawaiian agriculture and share planting techniques.

This will be followed by a varietal tasting of fresh-squeezed sugarcane juice comparing different cultivars.
