Celebration of Life Planned for Maui Boy, Trucker Dukes

Family members of 3-year old Trucker Dukes will be honoring Trucker’s life at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Hope Chapel in Kīhei.

Those in attendance are asked to bring a pūpū to share as they join in celebrating the way Trucker touched the lives of thousands as he battled a form of childhood cancer.

Trucker passed away on Friday morning, March 3, 2017 in the arms of his mother.

“You have all been amazing over the course of this battle by supporting us, encouraging us, praying for us and loving us,” family members said in a social media post to family, friends, those on Maui, the firefighter brotherhood worldwide, EMS, police and all of Trucker’s supporter.

Shortly after he was born, Trucker Dukes was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma. He was first diagnosed with the rare and aggressive cancer in November of 2013. After two years of treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation and surgical tumor removal in his abdomen and brain, Trucker went home to Maui.
