Emergency crews responded to a report of a vehicle that crashed into the side of Lahaina’s Pāʻia Fish Market on Front Street over the weekend.

The incident was reported at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2017.

Maui Police Lt. Gregg Okamoto tells Maui Now that a 67-year old female was trying to park her vehicle in a marked stall in an alley next to the restaurant at 632 Front Street in Lahaina.

The woman backed into a parked car, then while moving forward, she accidentally accelerated into the restaurant, Lt. Okamoto said.
