Stack at Māʻalaea Generating Plant Prepped for New Paint

The stacks at the Māʻalaea Generating Station are looking a little different as crews prep them for some new paint according to Maui Electric officials.

The center stack was seen wrapped in white material earlier this week in preparation for new paint job, which is considered general maintenance.

Company spokesperson Shayna Decker said, “Part of the preparation prior to painting is to remove the old weathered paint and any rust, and the wrap will contain that material for disposal.”
