The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua hosts its 2017 Celebration of the Arts event, April 14-16, on the resort grounds. The theme for the 2017 event is “Wahi Mahalo…A Universal Thank You” in honor of the 25th anniversary of Celebration of the Arts.

The event features artisans, educators, cultural practitioners, speakers and entertainers. Hands-on art, demonstrations, films, cultural panels, music and dance will be available to both residents and visitors who will have an opportunity to interact with artisans.

Opening ceremonies include traditional Hawaiian oli (chants) from Hawaiian practitioners while music and hula will be continuous throughout the weekend. The award winning event has earned accolades from Modern Luxury Hawaiʻi Magazine as the “Number 1 Rated Cultural Event” and the Hawaiʻi Lodging & Tourism Association’s “Keep It Hawaiʻi Kahili Award.”

The Celebration of Island Tastes will culminate the weekend festivities and is a brand new twist on the traditional Celebration Lū’au and Show.  The event includes traditional and contemporary Hawaiian food as well as live entertainment.

The Celebration After-Hours Party is the finale and is held in the hotel’s Salon Ballroom with no cover charge from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday and Saturday night. Island talent will take the stage with impromptu performances in a fun filled jam-session that reflects upon the spirit of aloha that the islands are known for.
