Staff Shortage Disrupts Refuse Pickup in Lahaina

Lahaina trash route missed. Maui Now graphic.

A staff shortage resulted in missed trash pickup along residential refuse routes in Lahaina today.

The County of Maui Dept. of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division reports that all missed pickups are expected to be completed tomorrow, Saturday, May 6, 2017.

Affected Areas include:

ʻĀinakea Street; Kapuanakea Street; Kahoma Street; Wahikuli Road; Malo Street; Malanai Street; Lokia Street; ʻAʻā Street; Kuʻuipo Street; Kaniau Road; Aipuni Street; Lower Honoapiʻilani Road; Honokōwai area; Nāpili area; Kahana area; and all surrounding streets and roads.

Officials with the Solid Waste Division apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the public in advance for their understanding and cooperation.
