Hardin joined forces with a several former NFL football players and is part of ROCKSOLID, a company that provides non contact soft shell equipment for non contact football where safety and player experience is now at the forefront. The company’s mission is to grow and protect the game by filling a void in player protection.

The group also wants to grow the sport of flag football and promote it as an introduction to the game that has given so much to those with NFL ties.  “This is coming at a time when football as a whole is under attack from the safety front and tackle numbers are hurting,” said Hardin.

Hardin said the concept is gaining traction across the US, and more notably Nike’s The Opening 7v7 tournament is requiring that all participants wear the company’s Soft Shell helmets.
