1,700 in Wailuku Lose Power During Tree Trimming

An estimated 1,700 customers briefly lost power in Wailuku on Friday, July 7, 2017 when tree trimmers accidentally dropped a palm frond on electrical lines, Maui Electric company representatives said.

The incident was reported at 12:40 p.m. near the corner of South Market and Kaohu Street.

Power was restored within 15 minutes to all customers by 12:55 p.m.
