“An Evening With Ottmar Liebert & Luna Negra” at the MACC, Aug. 10
The Maui Arts & Cultural Center will host multiple Grammy- nominated guitarist Ottmar Liebert and his band, Luna Negra, in the McCoy Studio Theater on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 7:30 p.m.
A five-time Grammy nominee, Liebert is a German guitarist, songwriter, and producer best known for his Spanish-influenced easy-listening music, where he blends sensual, melodic flamenco textures with influences from rock, jazz, and pop.
He’s received 38 Gold and Platinum certifications overall from his debut, “Nouveau Flamenco” to “The Hours Between Night and Day,” “The Scent of Light,” and “One Guitar.”
In 1989 Liebert founded and first began recording with his band Luna Negra (“black moon”). Personnel in the band have evolved in talent and numbers over the years, with the one constant being bassist Jon Gagan. For the Maui concert, Liebert will be accompanied by Gagan as well as Chris Steele, drums & percussion.
Tickets for the concert are on sale now and are available for $45 and $65 (plus applicable fees). Purchase tickets at the MACC Box Office, by phone at 242-SHOW or online here.
