Maui’s legendary hula competition, Kū Mai Ka Hula, will take place Sept. 8 and 9, at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. The event features award-winning hālau competing in solo and group performances. This year’s invitees include hālau from Japan and the US Mainland, as well as Maui, and O‘ahu.

Invited Na Kuma Hula and their hālau will perform at QKC as an encore to the 12th annual competition.

“Queen Ka’ahumanu Center is proudly committed to the preservation and perpetuation of the Hawaiian culture”, says Toni Rojas, Marketing Director. “As a Kū Mai Ka Hula sponsor, we are so very glad that we have the opportunity to showcase some of the amazing talent from this year’s competition right here on our Center Stage”, Rojas added.
