Plan representatives say the position will help to expand its service to communities on Hawai‘i Island, Kauaʻi, Maui, Lānaʻi, and Molokaʻi.

In her new capacity, Kapoi’s primary responsibility will be expanding HMSA’s community partnerships on the Neighbor Islands and supporting HMSA teams in Hilo, Kailua-Kona, Kahului, and Līhue.

“HMSA provides affordable access to the best doctors and hospitals. That’s earned the company the respect of communities throughout the state,” said Kapoi. “My job is to build on that foundation and help make new connections in the community that will benefit our members, employers, and providers.”
