Maui Democratic Party Hosts Affordable Housing Presentation

District 12 of the Democratic Party of Maui will host a presentation by Autumn Ness, executive assistant to County Councilwoman Elle Cochran, to discuss the Maui County Council’s efforts to increase the inventory of affordable housing.

The presentation takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pukalani Pool Multipurpose Room.

Ness was one of the lead researchers on the County Council Planning Committee’s Temporary Investigative Group on affordable housing.

In her presentation, she will report on their key findings including zoning changes for ‘ohana’s, smart growth, pre-approving building plans, tiny homes, multifamily housing and more.

The event is free and open to the pubic regardless of party membership.

This event is part of a monthly speaker series hosted by District 12. Meeting will take place on the second Wednesday of each month at the same time and location. Speakers will discuss a variety of issues of interest to the community.

On Wednesday Nov. 8 there will be a discussion on healthcare and on Dec. 13 there will be a presentation on the legislative process.
