Dear Mayor Arakawa:

Q: Why doesn’t the bus have a stop on the University of Hawai‘i Maui College campus? And could they run the mall bus to Kīhei until 10 p.m. so all those teens who end work at 9 p.m. have a way home? Thank you for your consideration.

A: Our Department of Transportation director says that we do have bus stops near the UH Maui campus on Wahinepio Avenue between the UH parking lot and The MACC.

These stops are served by the Kahului loop routes; the earliest pickup time is 6:38 a.m. and the last is 9:45 p.m.

Additional funding was requested for later departures from Central Maui to South and West Maui; however, this request was not funded by the County Council.
