Investigators with the Maui Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division invite the public to a presentation on how to avoid falling victim to mail, phone and on-line fraud.

The presentation will be offered on two different dates: Monday, Sept. 24 at the Kīhei Community Center; and Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the Wailuku Community Center.  Both presentations will be held at 5 p.m.

The free presentation will show participants how to recognize phone scams, email phishing and fraudulent claims sent through the US mail.

The presentation is open to everyone on Maui. Maui police say business owners are encouraged to send their employees to these events as even businesses have fallen victim to these types of crimes.
