PC: Maui Humane Society.

People who have adopted a pet from Maui Humane Society have just one week remaining to submit a story of how their adopted pet changed their life and to help give Maui Humane Society the opportunity to receive a $100,000 grand prize grant.

Finalist award grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 will also be issued. In addition, adopters with winning submissions will have the chance to win a Petco shopping spree up to $1,000.

The grant awards are being offered by the Petco Foundation in partnership with Petco for animal welfare organizations across the country.  The annual Holiday Wishes campaign provides funding to animal welfare organizations to save more lives during the holiday season and year-round.

Since 2013, more than $3 million in Holiday Wishes grants have been awarded.
