Waterline Break Affects Traffic on Lower Honoapi‘ilani Road

Personnel from the Maui Department of Water Supply are repairing a waterline break on Lower Honoapiʻilani Road, between the Sands of Kahana and Hoʻohui Road today (Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018).

At this time, one lane is open to traffic; however, the road will be closed from approximately 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Motorists are advised to follow traffic control, and use an alternate route this afternoon.

In addition, customers in the area are without water service at this time. Customers may want to flush their waterlines for a short time this evening to ensure that no sediment has accumulated in their waterlines during the repair. Customers are asked to call the 24-hour service line (270-7633) only if a water emergency occurs.
