Maui County Mayor Alan Arakawa answers some of the most-asked questions submitted to his staff.

Aloha Mayor,

Q: I see the Pukalani skatepark appears to be completed. When is the grand opening?

A: It’s true that most of the main features of the skatepark are finished, and will include a “slappy manny pad, a bank to wall ledge, a pop-up banked hip and an a frame with a skate rail and kicker t kicker cut-out,” according to our parks department. I’m sure our skaters out there know what those terms mean because I don’t.

In any case, the contractor still has to do the landscaping and fencing. The deadline for the project is early 2019 and it appears to be on schedule.
