Tickets for Maui Jim Classic Now on Sale

BasketballMAUI, a non-profit youth basketbal organization, will hold the 3rd annual Maui Jim Maui Classic hosted by Oregon State University from Friday, Dec. 14 to Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Lāhainā Civic Center.

This women’s NCAA Division I college basketball tournament will bring the nation’s top competitors to Maui, including Oregon State University, Texas A&M University, Eastern Washington University, and University of California Riverside.

The event will also feature local food trucks and entertainment by Derick Sebastian, who recently performed at an MLB game at Chase Field. BasketballMAUI will also be giving away prizes, including multiple chances to win Maui Jim sunglasses and a stay at the Hyatt Regency Maui in Lāhainā.

Game day passes can be purchased online for $10. The tournament will feature two games per day. The first game will start at 5:30 p.m. and the second game will start at 7:30 p.m.

All of the proceeds from the tournament will benefit basketballMAUI sports programs, the Maui Sparks basketball program, and the Lāhaināluna girls basketball team.

Throughout their stay, the NCAA athletes competing in the tournament will visit some of Mauiʻs elementary schools to talk to students about developing a healthy lifestyle. The athletes will visit Pōmaikaʻi, Kamehameha III, and Maui Prep elementary schools to meet, read, and speak with students about the important role that education has played in their athletic careers.
