Willie K & Friends Bluesfest 2019 at the MACC, Jan. 5
Maui Arts & Cultural Center and Maui Tribe Productions announced the annual Willie K & Friends Bluesfest on Saturday, Jan. 5 in the MACC’s A&B Amphitheater/Yokouchi Pavilion.
Special guest artists for Bluesfest 2019 include Tommy Castro and the Painkillers, Tavana, and John Akapo. Additional artists will be added as the concert draws near. The music starts at 6 p.m. and gates open at 5 p.m.
Willie K’s annual Bluesfest traditionally hosts special guests from nearby and far away for an evening that is as diverse and eclectic as it is electrifying. Willie K continues to push the musical envelope with his diverse range of musical genres, attracting some of the world’s top musical talents to the MACC as his guest artists.
Widely considered one of the founders of contemporary Hawaiian music, Willie K considers himself to be, first and foremost, a blues guitarist. In fact, Willie K and his Warehouse Blues Band has been called “the best blues band in the world” by Alice Cooper.
Tickets for general admission are $40 per adult and $10 for kids ages 2 to 12. Other ticket options include $65 and $85, with a limited number of $250 VIP packages.
