Wailuku Kitchen Fire Quickly Extinguished

Maui firefighters responded to reports of a structure fire at the Sugar Town Suites in Wailuku at 8:40 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018.
Two engines along with Hazmat 10 out of Kahului and a Battalion Chief responded.
Maui Fire Services Chief Rylan Yatsushiro said that once crews arrived on scene, they found smoke coming from a third floor unit. Firefighters made entry into the unit and quickly extinguished a fire in the kitchen area, according to department reports.
There was no one home at the time and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire and damages have yet to be
determined.
