Habitat Maui’s ReStore Temporarily Closed Starting Dec. 22

Habitat for Humanity Maui’s ReStore will close temporarily starting Saturday, Dec. 22, as the agency prepares to move operations to a larger facility located at 1162 Lower Main Street in Wailuku.

The new facility is about a quarter mile away and on the same side of Lower Main Street as Habitat’s present location.

Habitat’s ReStore has already stopped accepting donations until the new facility opens to the public. The grand opening will be announced at a later date. Donation pickups will also resume at that time.

Administrative support for Habitat’s programs may also be temporarily affected during the move, but staff will continue to be available via telephone, email, or by appointment.

Construction on Habitat Maui’s Home Build projects, such as the 10 single family homes currently being built in Lahaina, will not be affected.

Habitat for Humanity Maui was incorporated in 1996 and officially became an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International in 1997. To date, Habitat has built and renovated 118 houses on Maui and Lānaʻi, providing safe and affordable homes for over 500 people in the community.

Habitat Maui serves individuals and families earning between 25% – 80% of the median income of Maui County.  Its mission is to build decent housing and to renovate substandard housing on Maui in partnership with community volunteers and potential homeowners so that homelessness and substandard housing on Maui is eliminated.
