Released? WTF do you have to do on this island to be detained? Attempted child abduction should be considered an immediate danger to the community and he should be held pending investigation.

Re: ‘I‘iwi Receives Protection Under Endangered Species ActPosted by Rys on 9/19/2017 11:13am

I wish the mosquito laser was a thing already. Installing those around their habitats would help so much. I haven't heard any new news about it lately, but a Google search shows it isn't feasible yet for public release due to costs and still needing to be tweaked. If it ever fully comes to fruition and is able to be sold, it'd help so much I'm sure. Not just for these birds but mankind as a whole.

Re: Drought Report: 90.65% of State Abnormally Dry or DrierPosted by Stand Alone 🐼 on 9/19/2017 3:49am

Some people just dont learn. For very long time we've experienced droughts and they still dont create build more water reservoirs.
We all know that with all the more development and more demands for water they still dont get it.
What are they waiting for? The opportunity to have a reason to jack up the price for water?
Solving probles isn't that hard to do. And dont say you dont have enough funds. Cause thats BS...

Re: Maui Firefighters Douse Kahului Roadside BlazePosted by Mahukaawenui on 9/19/2017 2:22am

I wonder if his shopping cart got burned up.

Re: Drought Report: 90.65% of State Abnormally Dry or DrierPosted by Nailbanger on 9/19/2017 1:56am

But by all means keep developing, after all, we only see these reports yearly and they are always saying we are in a drout, so of course its ok to build more, i mean how else can Arakawa and the county bureaucrats justify their importance to us little people

Re: ‘Astronauts’ Conclude Mauna Loa Mars MissionPosted by JEFF on 9/18/2017 4:16pm

Re: ‘Astronauts’ Conclude Mauna Loa Mars MissionPosted by Rys on 9/18/2017 12:51pm

This is so cool. I hope they got a lot of data from the experiment and also that things they have found out bodes well for future endeavors. I'd love to see mankind take its first steps on Mars in my lifetime.

Re: Ask the Mayor: What Can Be Done About Loose Dogs?Posted by Nailbanger on 9/18/2017 5:28am

Open cary and one 230 g JHP would take care of that problem

The other issue is then when you do something to the unleashed dog you have to deal with the idiot baboon who owns it,,,,

Time draws near

Last time I went to one of these, everyone was eating Fritos and had the giggles.

Re: Ask the Mayor: What Can Be Done About Loose Dogs?Posted by Pumpkin Spice on 9/18/2017 2:49am

Sorry "Mayor"-this is 99.9% a homeless problem and the volume of letters that you have received about people and leashed dogs being attacked shows your disregard and disdain for the community that elected you. Don't pass it off to MHS--they have informed me (after both times my leashed dog was attacked) that without a video, they won't do anything. How am I supposed to video when with 1 hand I'm holding on to my terrorized leashed dog and with the other hand, I'm trying to fend off an unleashed 75-lb pit bull? This situation is escalating and you continue to ignore it. What's it going to take for you to do your job? A child being ripped apart by unleashed dogs at the beach? SMH

Re: Kīhei Brush Fire Scorches 5 AcresPosted by Maui_Mike on 9/17/2017 8:53am

Accidents happen. Hopefully there's no long term damage and they can chuckle over it in 20 years saying how they really fell for each other that day.

Re: Hawai‘i DOA to Receive $332,000 for Pesticide ProgramsPosted by CountryWithBorders on 9/16/2017 1:22pm

Glyphosate shouldn't be "monitored." It should be banned.

Why?

Glyphosate disrupts mammalian physiology, i.e. gut bacteria.

Understanding how it disrupts beneficial gut bacteria is what is important, and a slow gradual ingestion of Glyphosate exposure is EXTREMELY bad for gut bacteria. Hint: inflammation.

Glyphosate, unfortunately is found everywhere.

Re: New Jersey Newlyweds Airlifted After Fall at Hāna Beach, MauiPosted by Stand Alone 🐼 on 9/16/2017 12:55pm

People need to bring their brains with them on their vacations or adventures. No matter where they go.
Identifying hazards and dangers will save anyone from experiencing harmful hurt or worse.
Vacationing destinations is not all safe as you see it in advertising. Many things not mentioned is what will hurt you. Frightened people wont make a sale or make any money.
Like i said, be safe and enjoy your vacations any where you go. By bringing your brains and common sense with you.

If youre not sure or youre in doubt dont do it.

Remember, senseless risks is not worth it..... just bad memories.....

Re: Ask the Mayor: What is Maui County Doing About the Homeless Problem?Posted by TSL on 9/16/2017 11:22am
