Vigil, Sign Waving Held in Honor of Maui Stabbing Victim

"The sad thing also about this situation is that Kehau really did do everything we would suggest. She went to the store, she didn't go by herself. Someone went with her. She got a restraining order. When he violated the restraining order, she called the police. The police arrested him. Everything was working the way it was supposed to work, and I think that's what makes this doubly tragic," said Moniz.

Wake up people! We need tourists in Maui. We aren't going to magically create a resource to create wealth on Maui outside of tourism. That is the only resource we have. That being abundantly clear to anyone with even a little intelligence, we can be smart about how we get tourist's money and how we control our beautiful island. Working to build a better experience for tourists and to educate them to treat the island with respect is what we need to prioritize. We need to reduce crime and invest in education so the next generation builds a thriving community. I could go on but we need to start somewhere and take small steps.

Wonder how they get their statistics? Does the businesses ask everyone that shops at their businesses/ store if they're locals or a tourist? And oh yes, the national park is the reason for the spending? So, what businesses made all of that money?

Check out his photos, he has that very satisfaction of accomplishment and that I don't give a $#it expression. And that look of if I get away with this and be able to walk the streets again I'll stab you next.... no signs of any remorse what so ever......

  • Re: Suspect in Fatal Stabbing Appears for Preliminary HearingPosted by Stand Alone on 4/26/2016 5:06pm

Yes, allenbam that's is exactly what it was..... which is one of the most stupidest, selfishness way of thinking.......

  • Re: Suspect in Fatal Stabbing Appears for Preliminary HearingPosted by Stand Alone on 4/26/2016 5:01pm

I totally agree with you. I don't believe in sudden death style execution that's a too much of an easy out. Like I've mentioned in my first post. That is more appropriate ( long slow painful, suffer death)...... that's what he deserves.

  • Re: Suspect in Fatal Stabbing Appears for Preliminary HearingPosted by Maui_Mike on 4/26/2016 4:52pm

He will never be free in society again, but that's little consolation for what he has done, he deserves the most severe punishment possible, simply being locked up is not enough in my opinion, I would prefer something closer to what you suggested.

  • Re: Suspect in Fatal Stabbing Appears for Preliminary HearingPosted by allenbam on 4/26/2016 4:52pm

again hate to say it but....his ilk, their line of thinking is...if I can't have her, NOBODY can...

  • Re: Suspect in Fatal Stabbing Appears for Preliminary HearingPosted by Maui_Mike on 4/26/2016 4:49pm

You are so right, it is clear he was stalking her and intended to kill her, totally premeditated for sure.

  • Re: Suspect in Fatal Stabbing Appears for Preliminary HearingPosted by allenbam on 4/26/2016 4:42pm

I said it before and I repeat it here...he was stalking her, it was NOT coincidence that he was at Foodland, with a knife, at the same time she was there shopping for dinner...premeditated murder...he went there with intention to 'bleed her out' and that is exactly what he did...the 'male friend' witness's acct is chilling and the description of he yanked her head up and to the right and..............can't say the rest and no need to....pathetic....horrible way to die....

  • Re: Suspect in Fatal Stabbing Appears for Preliminary HearingPosted by Robert Bisordi on 4/26/2016 9:17am

What bothers me big time is all the tax dollars (our money) spent on this loser as well. The one redeeming value he may have is his organs. Let him be a premature organ donor so law abiding constructive citizens can live.

  • Re: Suspect in Fatal Stabbing Appears for Preliminary HearingPosted by Stand Alone on 4/26/2016 7:02am

Should use him and others like him as test monkeys /rats. Send his @$$ to a test lab and shoot some virus into him or plant some cancer cells inside him to see how long he'll survive........
He deserves to die slowly and painfully with alot of suffering.......
May he NEVER step back into society again......

  • Re: Maui Water Rights Rally Organized on Three IslandsPosted by payasyougo on 4/26/2016 4:01am

    Why protest at A&B?

A&B is using its influence (Money) to have a bill written, proposed, and then passed by the so called, Elected Representatives of the People. This Bill will allow A&B to skirt the Courts Decision.

I predict this Special Bill, which was probably written by A&B attorneys, will pass.

But any protests should be directed not at A&B, but at the author and co-authors of the Bill and those Representatives who support it.

Maui Now,,,name the Representatives connected to this Bill, and how much money has been donated to their election campaigns by A&B connected people and organizations.

    Follow the Money!

To those involved that administered CPR to this gentleman. You guys/ladies are heroes..... you'll live the rest of your life with the greatest feeling of giving life back into another person. (Been there done that)....
    Every seconds makes a difference.

  • Re: Oregon Man Pulled from Ocean in Wailea, RevivedPosted by Stand Alone on 4/25/2016 6:56am

Hope he'll be ok. People have to remember that swimming is an activity that requires a little bit of working out. Depending on the ocean conditions. It may look relaxing to do but it's really a workout. Know your abilities, what your health conditions, limitations are before doing that activities.
And swimming in the ocean is alot different from swimming in a pool.
    Be safe and enjoy......
Again, hope the guy will be fine. To enjoy life even longer.....

  • Re: Multiple Water Accidents at “Big Beach,” MākenaPosted by Noajorspanos on 4/25/2016 6:03am

One thing that helps is the lifeguard announcements. Lately it seems like during a day at Big Beach you only hear a lifeguard warning once every three hours or so. If you really want to reduce the injuries make announcements every 30 min or hour. 4 or 5 years ago one life guard had the best announcement. "Welcome to big beach, home of the big wave, your invitation to disaster..." People used to heed his warning.
