Manpower Shortage Affects Trash Pickup in Kīhei

Trash pickup on multiple streets in Kīhei was missed on Monday, Nov. 25, due to a manpower shortage, county officials announced.

The affected areas include the following streets and surrounding areas:

  • Kenolio Rd.
  • Honuhula St.,
  • Honuea St.,
  • Honuhalemua St.
  • Koki St.
  • Papau St.
  • Alulike St.
  • Hoʻopili ʻAkau St.
  • ʻImihale St.
  • Malimali St.
  • Mahealani St.
  • Malulani St.
  • Waiapo St.
  • South Kīhei Rd.
  • Kaiwahine St.
  • Kaiolohia St.
  • Kaikea St.
  • Hoʻohie St.
  • ʻIlikai St.Noe St.
  • Oe St.
  • Halekai St.
  • Hoalike St.
  • Lauloa St.
  • Nanakai St.
  • Wainohia St.
  • Huaka St.
  • Wīkani St.
  • Palanehe St.
  • ʻAhaiki St.
  • Pā St.
  • Moi St.
  • Ohukai Rd.

County officials say trash in the affected areas will be collected tomorrow, Nov. 26, instead.

The Department of Environmental Management apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the public for their understanding and co-operation.
